After Admission -What's Next?

Apply. Accept Your Offer of Admissions. Pay Your Enrollment Fee

New students should accept their offer of admission and pay the enrollment fee to get the advising and scheduling process started. First-year students are defined as those with less than 18 college credits.  First-year students must pay a non-refundable fee of $200 to initiate the enrollment process.  Enrollment fees can be paid in the Finance Office in Dawson 8.

Transfer students with 18 or more credits at another institution are considered transfer or advanced standing students. Transfer students are required to pay a $100 enrollment fee to initiate enrollment.  Enrollment fees can be paid in the Finance Office in Dawson 8.

Re-enrolling students that have attended Penn State in the past and are returning to complete their studies after a period of interruption are considered re-enrolling students. Re-enrolling students must fill out a re-enrollment form in the Registrar's office in Dawson 6. There is a $20 fee to re-enroll and you may need to replenish your $100 enrollment fee in your student account.  For more information about re-enrollment, please visit the re-enrollment web site.

Once you have paid your enrollment fee, you may be required to take an online placement test. If a placement test is required, you will receive a postcard with the web address and access code for the test.

Take Placement Test

Watch for a postcard from University Park FTCAP Operations with information on how to take the online placement test.  If you have any questions, please call 814-865-8270 (FTCAP Help Line).

Once you have taken the online test, your results will be sent to the campus and you may be invited to the First Year Testing and Advising Program if you are a first year student.  Tranfer and re-enrolling students will receive a registration packet in the mail. Visit the Worthington Scranton registrar site for more infomation.

Attend First Year Testing, Counseling and Advising Program (FTCAP).

New first-year students will recieve an invitation to the Worthington Scranton First Year Testing, Counseling and Advising Program  for a specific date between May and August 2008.  The program is designed to provide the a technology foundation along with academic advising to promote your academic success.  New students come to campus to recieve their Penn State id+ card and access account, attend technology orientation and participate in an academic advising and scheduling program to complete the enrollment process.

Re-enrolling and Transfer Students : Schedule Your Courses

Re-enrolling and Transfer students are not required to attend FTCAP.  Upon receipt of your enrollment fee, transfer students will receive a packet of information from the Registrar with your advisor assignment, course scheduling and registration instructions and other important information.  Pay Your Bill. Complete any Financial Aid Requirements

Once you have scheduled your classes, Penn State University will send your semester bill to your Penn State email address (which you should have received during FTCAP or prior to scheduling classes.) You may also need to e-sign your Federal Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note.

Please remember that Penn State will NOT send you a paper bill. You will only receive your bill via email or elion. Be sure your email account is active and that you can access it. If you have problems with accessing your email or elion, please call the IT Support Center at 570-963-2551 or stop by Dawson 116 to get help.

 Attend Orientation Programs. Complete Your Paperwork.

Start off the semester right by attending Penn State Worthington Scranton orientation programs. These orientation programs will help you get a jump start on your classes by giving you the skills and resources needed for success. Learn more about orientation and meet your orientation leaders.

Depending on your major, you may be invited to specialized orientation programs for your program of study.

All students are required to complete a Health Form.
